Mrs. Lauren Grimes is a Political Science professor, public diplomacy analyst, author, educational consultant, and youth advocate in Washington, D.C. Mrs. Grimes attained her Sociology B.A. at the University of Maryland, and her M.P.P. at George Mason University. After earning her M.P.P. degree, she was inspired to teach and began instructing as a Political Science professor.

During her time in academia and as an educational consultant, she has developed courses, curricula, and scholarly articles, as well as hosted workshops and delivered presentations throughout the U.S. and abroad. Her tireless work within her community and her experiences overseas led her to establish "The Community Enrichment Project," a youth civic engagement non-profit organization that focuses on empowering young leaders and providing community-based solutions for socio-economic issues. Mrs. Grimes is dedicated to encouraging youth to "Think Globally and Act Locally" as Global Citizens. She serves on the Global Coalition on Youth, Peace and Security’s “Taskforce on Knowledge Management and Learning.” She also serves as a member and volunteer for various organizations such as the United Nations Association of the USA (UNA-USA), The National Women's Caucus for Political Science (WCPS), and the National Council for the Social Studies. Through her professional and personal work, Mrs. Grimes aspires to continue to pursue local and global efforts and public policy changes to enhance civic awareness within her community and around the world.
